Christian-Dumb Ė The Dumbing Down Of Christians
By Lucian Thompson

In the 4th chapter of Hosea the Lord speaks to His people Israel. God tells Hosea to marry a prostitute named "Gomer" to dramatize how Israel has become faithless by worshiping other gods.

Hosea 4:1: Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the Land. There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgement of God in the land.

That sounds like today, doesnít it? Where is the love of God today? What happened to being faithful and committed to the Lord?

No acknowledgement of God in the Land. "God is goneÖGod is dead," we hear today. Not many seem to know much about God and His laws today!

Godís people are as guilty as the rest about spreading a false gospel and ignoring His law.

v6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priest; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

Rejected knowledge! Yes, many Christians donít want to hear anything but, God is love, and He is, but He is just also, and He canít tolerate sin.

v7: The more the priests increase, the more they sinned against me; they exchanged their glory for something disgraceful.

In pulpits all across these lands today, the called of God are exchanging the glory of their call for the sensualities of this world and to placate individuals who hold an influence over them.

v8: They feed on the sins of my people and relish their wickedness.

God have mercy, but there are indeed many pastors, teachers, evangelists, priests, and ministers who lead those astray and wallow in their sinfulness. Taking part in it and embracing it.

v9: And it will be: Like people like priest. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them both for their deeds.

Not only will God punish the people but also He will greatly punish the priest (Leader) who leads them astray and partakes in their sinful ways. Their blood will be on the hands of the Watchman, and that is what a priest is. God will not fail to punish him that has knowledge and who does not sound the alarm.

Ezekiel 33:6: But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchmanís hand.

Anyone who has knowledge is the watchman!!!

OUR failure to sound the alarm will place the blood of those who donít know, directly on our own hands. Iím telling you that everyone who has received Jesus into their hearts is a watchman and responsible for what happens on their watch. Like it or not it comes with your salvation. A package deal!

v6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priest; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

Why such a lack of knowledge in todayís Christian-Dumb?

The Word said we have rejected knowledge! Itís a choice we make and we want everyone else to make that same choice so we wonít feel intimidated by their knowledge. Misery loves company!

We reject knowledge of God and we reject those who sound the alarm because we donít want to have ears to hear and eyes to see. Maybe that way we wonít be accountable for it.

WellÖeven manís law says that ignorance, (the lack of knowledge) of the law is no excuse.

Dumbing down just doesnít get it. You are still held accountable!

Verse 6 said that not wanting to know the Word will cause God to reject you as His priest or messenger.

Well, What now? God has made it very clear!

Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:22: How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Jeremiah 3:15: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Pastors are being led astray and entering into the lust of this world, taking those in their charge with them. God have mercy on their souls!

For those who have ears to hear, hear this: The enemy is even at the gate. Take arms and stand you at your post less you be run over and destroyed.

Excuse me if I sound loud and obnoxious. No voice yelled out in the darkness of sleep is pleasant to hear.

What now?

Ephesians 1:17: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.

If you need direction and guidance today, take heed of Paulís prayer in Ephesians 1:17.
Ask God to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation. God has all the answers you need, and theyíre not as far from you as you may think. If any man lacks knowledge, let him ask.
