In the days of Moses, God instructed him to have the people build a tabernacle, so that God could be in their midst at all times. The tabernacle included an outer court, where the common person would sacrifice and worship God. Inside the tent, was the Holy Place where only the priests and high priest could enter. The last room in the Tabernacle was the most special of them all…the Holy of Holies, where God’s presence and glory lived over the Ark of the Covenant. The high priest was the only person allowed in this room, and then only once a year. Separating the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies was a veil of tightly woven threads of red, purple, blue and gold.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, the Spirit of God tore the veil from top to bottom. The richness of God’s presence is no longer beyond your reach. You can experience an intimate relationship with God. God has made a way for you! He desires your presence with Him. Don’t be afraid. He loves you with an everlasting love. Step into the Holy of Holies…God is waiting for you.
Alice Smith, author of Beyond the Veil, gives spirit-led insight on how to enter into intimacy with God. The key to intimacy with God is prayer and Alice gives practical teachings on how to intercede with success. Each chapter is powerful! It’s definitely a book that transforms lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There is so much information in each chapter that reading it more than once may be a necessity. If, like me, you think you have a handle on prayer, this book may challenge that idea. After every chapter, there are challenging questions that hit pretty close to the heart of the matter. A workbook is also available for deeper study of the book.
The book is clear on the message that being an intercessor is not for sissies! Spiritual battle is real! Smith writes that God invites us to partner with Him in His kingdom purposes. God will not move in some situations without the prayers of His people.
There are great visuals that Smith writes concerning prayer and intercession. It is quite interesting the visual that Smith uses in regards to how the tabernacle was laid out and how one’s body, soul, and spirit has many of the same spiritual layouts.
If you have an interest in growing your prayer life, this is definitely the book for you!
