lifeBody Parts
By Bill Shurkey

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ…But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him" (I Corinthians 12:12 and 18, KJV).

The body of Christ is like a collage. We are made up of many different people of different color and cultures. We all have our special talents the Lord has blessed us with.

Stalker
By Al Boyce

In my dream I walked
Through wreaths of fog
Toward a flashing light of red
And as I drew close
I saw the words
You've a "Message" it said.

Somehow I knew
Before listening
What message I would hear
But I pushed "play"
And as fog dispersed
The message became clear.

"Beloved," it said
"Please come to me
"You know your heart is mine
"Cast off your loves
"They can't complete"
Then static on the line.

The Artist
By Glenn A. Hascall

The canvas?
Earthen clay.
Darkness, yes,
Light – the way.

Water decorated
Land and sky
A subtle hue
A brilliant dye

An aqua splash
A churning sea
Barren land
No wait, there's trees

Add to green
A golden shade
Sun, moon – stars
A sparkling jade

Creatures fashioned
Fantastic, enchanting

Are You Listening?
By Karen Treharne

My God speaks to me about His great love,
and asks that I return it and also pass it on.
But do I listen?

The Almighty cares so much for me that He saves all
my tears, and says that when I hurt, He weeps as well.
But do I listen?

He tells me all about His Son and the home that waits
for me. Because He wants me by His side for all eternity.
But do I listen?

Stay quiet and be still, He says, and my soft voice you'll
hear. Then you'll be filled with joy and peace. This
promise I will keep.
But do I listen?

Oh Lord, I need you here, to know You're in control. So
speak loudly God that I may hear.
I'm finally listening now.

Karen Treharne is a published writer who loves poetry but has always been hesitant about letting others read her work in this area. Encouragement and urging from the Holy Spirit has led her to write about the Lord in her poetry which in turn has increased her desire to share. Karen is currently editor of The Joy of Family department of FW Magazine. You can write to Karen through the Letters page of this magazine.
