My Friends Call Me Single
By Grace Gana
"…..if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light….let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left."

My friends call me single – and oh how true!
In all that I am, in all that I do
I’m single in vision, in purpose and plan
I’m living this season to the fullest I can
My friends call me single, they’ve sure hit the mark
My light’s ever shining, ever glowing in the dark
I’m singly living God’s purpose and Word
Without distraction I’m serving the Lord
My friends call me single – I have no care
I’m running to win – no weights to spare
Pressing on for the goal of the heavenly prize
I’m a pearl of great value in my loving Savior’s eyes.
So I celebrate "single" – I relish the times!
Making the most of each moment as the clock of life chimes
I’m redeeming the time – not one wasted hour
As I fulfill my destiny through God’s glorious power!

In the Shadow of His Wings
By Crista Darr
Are you weary from the battle
In a home that’s not your own
In this world of trials and trouble
Yes, I hear your longing groan
O God, why must I suffer
As the storms rage in this place
How long, O Lord of thunder
Will the dark clouds hide Your face
Come close, O child, and listen
There’s a place I may be found
Where the Words of life are written
And the peace of God abounds
How can I reach the shadow
In the covert of Your wings
Where songs of joy do overflow
And comfort You do bring
Child, I am not that far away
I’m the Word upon your shelf
Wipe the dust from My Book today
And read it for yourself
I delve into the Scriptures
Like a famished man his bread
And feast on power to endure
The rocky paths I tread
Bring the burdens that you carry
Your hurt, your pain, your sin
Ascend into My sanctuary
And find your rest therein
My soul thirsts for You alone
Your cup spills from these pages
Washing o’er my heart of stone
With Living Waters of the ages
I’ve longed to have this time, My love
Your grief was Mine to share
I had the answers all along
The help for every care
Resting in Your warm embrace
I find strength that’s not my own
Entering on wings of grace
To worship at Your throne
Seek me child, with all your heart
Do not neglect My Word
Let not these truths from you depart
Obey what you have heard
Tasting of Your Words so sweet
My heart can’t help but sing
Soaring through this heav’nly retreat
In the shadow of Your wings
